The 15 Puzzle is the classic sliding-tile brain teaser, free to play online in your browser with no download and no sign-up. Slide the numbered tiles around the single empty space until they line up in order from 1 to the end. Choose a 3×3, 4×4, or 5×5 board and chase your best move count and time on phone or desktop.

How to play

• Pick a board size: 3×3, 4×4, or 5×5.
• Tap any tile in the same row or column as the empty space to slide it over.
• A whole line of tiles shifts at once when you tap a far one.
• Arrow keys (or W, A, S, D) slide a tile into the blank too.
• Arrange every tile in numerical order, leaving the blank at the end.
• The timer and move counter start on your first slide.

Solve the puzzle in stages instead of all at once: finish the top row completely, then the left column, and keep shrinking the unsolved area until only a small square is left. Work the corners early, because they are the hardest tiles to place once the board fills up. The 3×3 board is a gentle warm-up, while the 5×5 rewards patient, planned moves over frantic sliding.
