Same Game

Same Game (also known as Bubble Breaker) is a free online tile-clearing puzzle. Remove connected groups of two or more same-coloured tiles; the tiles above fall into the gaps and empty columns slide to the left. Bigger groups are worth far more, so hold your colours together and clear them in one big sweep. Simple to pick up, tricky to master, and playable on phone or desktop with no download and no sign-up.

How to play

• Tap any group of two or more touching tiles of the same colour to select it.
• Tap the selected group again to clear it and score.
• Tiles above fall down, and columns that become empty slide to the left.
• A group of n tiles scores (n − 2)² — so a group of 10 is worth 64, not 8.
• Clear the whole board for a big bonus; the game ends when no groups remain.

Resist clearing small groups early — every tile you add to a colour raises its score quadratically, so one big group beats several small ones. Work from the bottom and sides to merge colours together, and keep at least one large group in reserve for the endgame. Try to finish the board completely for the clear bonus.
