Color Lines

Color Lines (also known as Lines 98) is a free online puzzle classic. Move balls around a 9×9 board and line up five or more of the same colour — horizontally, vertically or diagonally — to clear them and score. Every move that does not clear a line drops three more balls in, so the board keeps filling: plan ahead and keep it open as long as you can. Plays on phone or desktop, no download and no sign-up.

How to play

• Click a ball to pick it up — it starts bouncing.
• Click an empty square to move it there, if a clear path exists between them.
• Line up five or more balls of one colour to clear them and score points.
• A move that clears a line does not add new balls; any other move drops three in.
• The game ends when the board fills up — clear lines to survive longer.

Keep the centre clear and build your lines along the edges, where new balls are less likely to block them. Group balls of the same colour as you move — even three or four in a row means the fifth is one move from a clear. Watch the Next preview and avoid trapping a ball in a corner you will need to reach.
